Rabbi Kiwa (Akiba) Goldberg

ca 1853 - ca 1924

Kiwa (Akiba) Goldberg served as the Rabbi of Radzilow starting from some time between 1898 and 1903, until his death in about 1924. He was the officiating Rabbi in a marriage that occurred in June of 1924. In a 1934 birth record of an April 1924 birth, the Rabbi's illness is given as the reason the birth was not recorded at the time. Rabbi Goldberg was married twice. He did not have any children with his first wife. He remarried in 1917, at the age of 64, and had two sons.

The Goldberg family has roots in Radzilow which can be traced back to the mid-1700's, with many different branches. If you are a Goldberg from Radzilow or any nearby town, please contact me.

Itzchak Wolf Goldberg,
one of Rabbi Goldberg's two sons. born in 1922. Itzchak fled to Russia during WWII, surviving the Holocaust, then went to Italy after the war, before emigrating to Israel.
